The MOY Concept is a project of a compact car capable of displaying custom and graphics through a body made of polycarbonate panels with integrated LCDs and LEDs. The car, designed by Elvis Tomljenovic, was the winner of the contest at the auto(r) conference.

The Moy Concept is targeted at a modern generation who uses technology as a means to express themselves and communicate with others

This concept, designed by Elvis Tomljenovic, was the winner of the design contest held during the auto(r) automotive design conference.

The body of the car is made of two polycarbonate layers – one outer and one inner – with layers of liquid cristals, LED diodes and electrochromic foil (film) inbetween.

This enables Moy to display both static images and videos, so that it can be used as a new medium of communication or promotion.

As Elvis Tomljenovic explains “The idea behind MOY concept is that everyone can design his own car graphics on his own computer and then apply the design to the vehicle using wireless data transfer or share it with other people through web-site, forum, e-mail etc.”

“To those who lack the necessary skills or time to create their own design, the option of downloading ready made designs is available. “

The vehicles are interconnected, so this exchange is possible in motion. Movement recognition technology enables to draw on the car in real time.

The vehicle is powered by batteries that charge electric motors located in the wheels and controlled by drive-by-wire technology.

75-80% of the cars in traffics has only one passenger and that’s the driver… In the future, it’ll be impossible for roads to host such a great number of cars if things continue this way. Something needs to be done, and we present you one possible case.

This is great concept for developing the future of mobility with an aim to eradicate major city traffic problems worldwide.

We present a revolutionary mobility system that combines public and private transportation. The aim of the project is to offer a definitive solution for traffic jams that are produced daily on the roads in and around major cities.

Here is the creation of a new collective, automated infrastructure which is called MOM. The system is based on a single-seated vehicle (extendible to two persons) and powered by combination magnetic and electricity; the system is designed to conserve energy in order to maintain sustainable automotive futures.

The future of the automobile has limitless potential, so just thinking about it can elicit giddy anticipation. From remote controlled parking to intelligent accelerators, a new adaptation is in the works for almost every detail of your car. Most of the technologies listed below have already been created or are nearing completion, meaning they could become available in the near future. It won’t be long before driving — if you even have to drive — becomes as low-maintenance, safe and easy as riding a bicycle.

1. Your car may be able to drive and fly: A list of predictions related to the future of cars wouldn’t be complete without pointing out the possible emergence of a flying car. It’s closer to happening these days, as Dutch manufacturer PA-V Europe has been perfecting the PAL-V One, which is a three-wheeled vehicle that’s capable of land and air travel. It seats one person, travels up to 125 mph on the ground, flies at 97 knots, climbs 800 feet per minute and has a range of 280 miles. Owners in both Europe and the States will be required to have sports aviation licenses before they operate the PAL-V One when it becomes available in the near future — 2011. If it proceeds as schedule, it may be the precursor of what can be achieved with flying cars.

2. Your car will have a remote controlled parking system: Before drivers become completely unnecessary, remote controlled parking will be a feature added to many models. Currently, BMW is in the process of refining the function, which it initially presented in 2006. The objective is to allow drivers to step out of their vehicle and let the car do the rest of the work. Activation of the automatic parking maneuver enables the car to autonomously park itself into a narrow garage using its sensor system. No longer will it be necessary for drivers to transform into Gumby in order to emerge from confined parking spaces.

3. Your car will still be slower than a hybrid Ferrari: Who said hybrid is a synonym for lame? In the near future, Ferrari plans to produce a hybrid supercar, the Hy-Kers, that’ll quench the need for performance while burning fuel efficiently and leaving a smaller footprint on the environment. The 599 GTB Fiorano was the inspiration for the design due to its low center of gravity that preserves interior space. Amazingly, the Hy-Kers’ motor weighs just 88 pounds, produces 111 horse power and enables the car to go zero to 60 in just 3.5 seconds. Ferrari’s knowledge of kinetic energy recovery systems, which is technology previously used in Formula 1 racing, was utilized in the design. The cost of making the Hy-Kers was high, so expect a price tag typical of your modern Ferrari and then some.

4. Your car will have intelligent tires: You may not fully appreciate the function of your car’s tires. Some people drive miles upon miles with insufficient air pressure or worn treads until they’re stranded alongside the road. But that could change in the coming years with the introduction of an intelligent tire, which comes equipped with sensors that measure pressure, g-force, temperature and load. Drivers are alerted if their tires detect a heavy load that requires a change in pressure. What’s more, they also alert the driver if the tread is wearing down, indicating that it’s time for a change. Their aptitude for recognizing different driving situations is remarkable, so the driver will know everything necessary in order to maximize the efficiency and safety of their car.

5. Your car will have an intelligent accelerator: Continental has developed an Accelerator Force Feedback Pedal (AFFP) that warns drivers of potential hazards and encourages fuel-efficient driving. Haptic feedback signals are used to assist the driver, changing the foot pressure from stiff to light. For example, when an upshift or downshift is needed, it can pulse twice. The benefit is that the drivers respond better to direct feedback from the pedal than with visual information, allowing them to maintain focus on their surroundings.

6. Your car will have an intelligent steering system: Safety will be enhanced with the addition of emergency steer assist systems that complements your emergency brake systems. Continental’s system kicks in when a car can no longer stop in time to avoid an accident, steering the car in a safer direction. It corresponds with the electric steering rack in order to adjust torque depending on the direction, and then indicates the appropriate steering motion. Continental asserts that because many vehicles are already equipped with the necessary accompanying technology, emergency steer assist can be implemented smoothly and inexpensively.

7. Your car will respond to traffic signals: We can again thank German ingenuity for this pending innovation. Audi is in the process of perfecting a traffic management system that’s a cog in the “car-to-x communication” movement, or Vehicle Infrastructure Integration initiative, which is described in the following list item. Signals are relayed from traffic lights to the car, informing the driver of the necessary speed to travel so that the next light turns green before they reach it, how long they need to wait before a red light switches to green, and when an approaching light turns yellow. The feature will be a saver of time and money for everyday drivers.

8. Your car will benefit from Vehicle Infrastructure Integration (VII) : Researchers are currently developing technology that’ll make cars aware of their surroundings. With the combination of GPS navigation, advanced on-board computers, wireless communications and vehicle sensors, vehicles may be able to recognize threats on the roadway and alert drivers. Other useful information that could be relayed to the driver includes travel time and weather conditions, allowing drivers to efficiently plan their trips. Of course, you can already find weather and traffic reports using your GPS devices and phones, but the difference is that the operation of such gadgets must be initiated by you, which is dangerous when you’re driving.

9. Your car will take over if you become incapacitated: Autonomous driving is one step closer to becoming a reality thanks to BMW. In the future, when a driver becomes incapacitated, the car will assume their duties and move the car to a safe location away from traffic. The innovation is made possible by the integration of GPS systems and road vision from video cameras, which enabled the recently tested 5-series to identify its location and make a move based on its surrounding environment. Additionally, after the car has been pulled to safety, BMW Assist calls for medical assistance.

10. Your car won’t need a driver: Primitive versions of the driverless car have been constructed and tested since the 1970s, though some of the most impressive of those vehicles weren’t driven 100 percent autonomously. In recent years, efforts have been undertaken to build a capable driverless car for the consumer. General Motors announced in 2008 that they may have driverless cars on the road by 2018, which isn’t completely unachievable given the technology that has recently been developed and tested by Google — yes, that Google and BMW.
According to Wikipedia, Mind reading refer to telepathy, the transfer of information between individuals by means other than the five senses.

Mind-reading is no longer science fiction. In the near future we can expect a number of steps to improve communication with the thoughts, and the first step is to talk through our thoughts with the computer.

This system should provide that, instead of keyboard and mouse, we use our brain waves to provide a computer instructions on what to do.

The system looks simple. First, the user has to train the system to recognize his thoughts by imagining a certain action (for example, move the mouse pointer on the screen). Next time the system recognizes that thought, it will perform the action for which it is associated.

View a demo of this system and be amazed. It is a live demonstration where Tan Le’s astonishing new computer interface reads its user’s brainwaves, making it possible to control virtual objects, and even physical electronics, with mere thoughts (and a little concentration). She demos the headset, and talks about its far-reaching applications.

Imagine a city totally redesigned using the minimum expenditure of energy possible and using the cleanest technology available. This city will be working in harmony with nature to achieve the highest standard of living for the whole community.

perfect world

White dome shaped houses, sea cities, eco-focused space stations – is this the face of the future? Yes according to Jacque Fresco, founder of The Venus Project. A plan and vision for a global change in the way we all live, The Venus Project sets out to address some of the earth’s greatest challenges faced today and in the future. Social problems like unemployment, violence, poverty and over population as well as environmental problems like global warming and the finite level of the earth’s resources are all within the broad spectrum of issues to be resolved in this blue-print for a new world civilization.

Turning from a money-based economy into a resource-based economy as the Venus Project proposes may ultimately be the only choice we have if the world continues as it is. Venus Project proposes a completely different system which is updated on accumulated knowledge and technologies. Scientists were never tired to wonder what kind a company that would eliminate boring and monotonous jobs, which would eliminate accidents in transportation, which would allow people to have a high standard of living, which would eliminate harmful substances added to our foods, to provide other energy sources, clean and efficient, etc..

Major difference between a resource based economy and a monetary system is that a resource based economy is really concerned about people and their welfare, while the monetary system has become so distorted that people issues are secondary, if that even taken into account.

perfect world

Products are put on the market depending on how much money can get. If there is a problem in society and can not earn any money in solving the problem will be solved. Resource-based economy is not anything close to what has been tried before.

With all the technology today we can create abundant. Could be used to improve the lifestyle of all. There are abundant in the world if we use technology wisely and if we preserve the environment.

perfect world

How free is that? The project will make use of a resourced based economy in which all use of money, credit, barter and debt is eliminated. All resources become the common heritage of the community and not just a select few. In an economy based on resources rather financial wealth, we can utilize existing resources and easily produce all of the necessities of life gaining high standard of living. By removing the stress due to accumulating enough money to take care of the family or providing nutrition to communities in poverty, society as a whole will be able to evolve. Food, clothing, safety and quality of life are all basic requirements of life and there is no need to pay for them. I believe that this could be a wonderful experience for all of mankind, but the question of feasibility arises. It would be impossible to find funding for a project of this scale, the only way a project of this magnitude could work would be in a “resource-based world economy” and “the world’s resources are held as a common heritage of all of the earth’s peoples.”

Fresco believes he has the ideas and plans that can ultimately eliminate poverty, politics, and war through the depletion of the monetary system, and by focusing more on our technology, and technological advances.

perfect world

Wikipedia says that a video game console “is an interactive entertainment computer or electronic device that produces a video display signal which can be used with a display device (a television, monitor, etc.) to display a video game”. There are so many great gaming consoles out there, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, PSP.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Sony was the dominant player in the video game industry. Sony Playstation 2 was extremely popular and had a great share of the console market. Then showed up one powerful tech corporation which could dethrone Sony. It was Microsoft, of course.

After the Microsoft’s first home console (Xbox) wasn’t successful enough, Microsoft released a new and much better version of its console called Xbox 360. Xbox 360 was considered, at the time, revolutionary. The entrance of Microsoft into the video game business was a sign that a new console war began. As an answer to Xbox 360, Sony presented the next version of its Playstation line called PS3.

So how and when will this war be over? What will decide this war? One of the most important weapons could be design. Some people think that PS3 has better design than XBOX 360 and some disagree. Of course, technical specifications are very important but there are many people that will buy a game console based just on its look.

We present you a work of Mr. Tai Chiem and his vision of future Playstation and Xbox (Playstation 4 and Xbox 720). We also present you a futuristic vision of PSP (Portable Sony Playstation), PSP2.
It happens more often than we would like that we find ourselves taking a wrong turn, and taking twice as long to find our way back. We present you this nice tool, basically a wireless projector, that will be very handy in the future world.

Map wireless projector is little and nice looking device

It’s called Maptor, and it’s a design concept from Jin-Sun Park and Seon-keun Park. Basically, you wear this wireless projector on a lanyard or maybe even as a keychain or beltclip, and when you need to see your map, you press a button, and  your map is projected onto whatever nearby surface is handy.

Another great feature is that Maptor has a GPS included, so when you look at the map there will be a big red arrow on the map that points to your current location. Using the easy, push-button interface, one can easily enlarge or shrink the overall map size as well as zoom in and out as needed. Maps can be downloaded wirelessly via a Bluetooth connection.

Since it’s a concept only, it’s not available commercially, but it will sure enough wait us in the future…

Nokia 888 is a concept design phone from Tamer Nakisci. This Nokia phone is all about great design and possibility to completely change its form according to your needs.

It uses liquid batteries, speech recognition, flexible touchscreen and touch-sensitive body cover. It has a simple programmable body mechanism so that its form changes for different situations.

It is targeted to the young consumers who are likely to be active and take place in a lot of different activities.

Morph into any design you wish

You can send and receive forms from friends. You can send a heart shape to your girlfriend, so her telephone turns into an icon of heart.

Using something we call Augmented Reality, it is possible to combine real world with virtual. It is truly amazing technology and in this article we’ll try to give you some extreme examples of it, and in some future posts, we’ll present you with stuff that, actually, already exists.

It is essentially the fusion of real world and virtual reality, where graphic objects are mixed into real footage in real time. Augmented Reality creates the illusion that virtual, computer-generated objects exist in the real world.

The majority of you have already seen this in movie “Terminator 2″, where robot from future (Mr. Schwarzenegger) is looking at objects around him marked with labels.

Way in which Terminator is looking around him

Picture yourself walking or driving down the street. With augmented-reality displays, which will eventually look much like a normal pair of glasses or contact lenses, informative graphics will appear in your field of view, and will coincide with whatever you see. These enhancements will be refreshed continually to reflect the movements of your head.

Sounds interesting? Imagine new generation of entertainment… Games? Why not play, all time classic game, Pacman in real-time?

Pacman in real life

Applications of augmented reality technology are infinite. Look at these great (and extreme) concept videos made by Invivia on request of Microsoft Corporation. These videos are really impressive so take a few moments to enjoy them.

Creativity and imagination of people who invent such things are incredible. Something that is so complex as a computer could, in fact, be packed in 5 pens. How is it possible? Just look at images below.

It seems that these are pictures of several pens in the pencil holder. No way to conclude that you are actually looking at the computer.

Just some fancy pencils?

When you look a little closer, it is possible to see that these are not a normal pens. Here, we have some cameras, headset and some fancy looking details.

These pens actually have some interesting details

You need very little time to transform all of these pencils. They now look like they have some other purpose.

Pencils after some transformations

Now we have a keyboard, monitor, and all that is necessary to use our super-modern computer.
