Imagine a city totally redesigned using the minimum expenditure of energy possible and using the cleanest technology available. This city will be working in harmony with nature to achieve the highest standard of living for the whole community.

White dome shaped houses, sea cities, eco-focused space stations – is this the face of the future? Yes according to Jacque Fresco, founder of The Venus Project. A plan and vision for a global change in the way we all live, The Venus Project sets out to address some of the earth’s greatest challenges faced today and in the future. Social problems like unemployment, violence, poverty and over population as well as environmental problems like global warming and the finite level of the earth’s resources are all within the broad spectrum of issues to be resolved in this blue-print for a new world civilization.

Turning from a money-based economy into a resource-based economy as the Venus Project proposes may ultimately be the only choice we have if the world continues as it is. Venus Project proposes a completely different system which is updated on accumulated knowledge and technologies. Scientists were never tired to wonder what kind a company that would eliminate boring and monotonous jobs, which would eliminate accidents in transportation, which would allow people to have a high standard of living, which would eliminate harmful substances added to our foods, to provide other energy sources, clean and efficient, etc..

Major difference between a resource based economy and a monetary system is that a resource based economy is really concerned about people and their welfare, while the monetary system has become so distorted that people issues are secondary, if that even taken into account.

Products are put on the market depending on how much money can get. If there is a problem in society and can not earn any money in solving the problem will be solved. Resource-based economy is not anything close to what has been tried before.

With all the technology today we can create abundant. Could be used to improve the lifestyle of all. There are abundant in the world if we use technology wisely and if we preserve the environment.

How free is that? The project will make use of a resourced based economy in which all use of money, credit, barter and debt is eliminated. All resources become the common heritage of the community and not just a select few. In an economy based on resources rather financial wealth, we can utilize existing resources and easily produce all of the necessities of life gaining high standard of living. By removing the stress due to accumulating enough money to take care of the family or providing nutrition to communities in poverty, society as a whole will be able to evolve. Food, clothing, safety and quality of life are all basic requirements of life and there is no need to pay for them. I believe that this could be a wonderful experience for all of mankind, but the question of feasibility arises. It would be impossible to find funding for a project of this scale, the only way a project of this magnitude could work would be in a “resource-based world economy” and “the world’s resources are held as a common heritage of all of the earth’s peoples.”

Fresco believes he has the ideas and plans that can ultimately eliminate poverty, politics, and war through the depletion of the monetary system, and by focusing more on our technology, and technological advances.

Wikipedia says that a video game console “is an interactive entertainment computer or electronic device that produces a video display signal which can be used with a display device (a television, monitor, etc.) to display a video game”. There are so many great gaming consoles out there, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, PSP.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Sony was the dominant player in the video game industry. Sony Playstation 2 was extremely popular and had a great share of the console market. Then showed up one powerful tech corporation which could dethrone Sony. It was Microsoft, of course.

After the Microsoft’s first home console (Xbox) wasn’t successful enough, Microsoft released a new and much better version of its console called Xbox 360. Xbox 360 was considered, at the time, revolutionary. The entrance of Microsoft into the video game business was a sign that a new console war began. As an answer to Xbox 360, Sony presented the next version of its Playstation line called PS3.

So how and when will this war be over? What will decide this war? One of the most important weapons could be design. Some people think that PS3 has better design than XBOX 360 and some disagree. Of course, technical specifications are very important but there are many people that will buy a game console based just on its look.

We present you a work of Mr. Tai Chiem and his vision of future Playstation and Xbox (Playstation 4 and Xbox 720). We also present you a futuristic vision of PSP (Portable Sony Playstation), PSP2.

Wireless Projector For Future Travelers

Have you ever found yourself wandering aimlessly in an unfamiliar part of the city having to ask people for directions? It happens more often than we would like that we find ourselves taking a wrong turn, and taking twice as long to find our way back. We present you this nice tool, basically a wireless projector, that will be very handy in the future world.

Itâ€™s called Maptor, and itâ€™s a design concept from Jin-Sun Park and Seon-keun Park. Basically, you wear this wireless projector on a lanyard or maybe even as a keychain or beltclip, and when you need to see your map, you press a button, andÂ your map is projected onto whatever nearby surface is handy.

Another great feature is that Maptor has a GPS included, so when you look at the map there will be a big red arrow on the map that points to your current location. Using the easy, push-button interface, one can easily enlarge or shrink the overall map size as well as zoom in and out as needed. Maps can be downloaded wirelessly via a Bluetooth connection.

Nokia 888 is a concept design phone from Tamer Nakisci. This Nokia phone is all about great design and possibility to completely change its form according to your needs.

It uses liquid batteries, speech recognition, flexible touchscreen and touch-sensitive body cover. It has a simple programmable body mechanism so that its form changes for different situations.

It is targeted to the young consumers who are likely to be active and take place in a lot of different activities.

See The World With Terminator’s Eyes!

Using something we call Augmented Reality, it is possible to combine real world with virtual. It is truly amazing technology and in this article we’ll try to give you some extreme examples of it, and in some future posts, we’ll present you with stuff that, actually, already exists.

It is essentially the fusion of real world and virtual reality, where graphic objects are mixed into real footage in real time. Augmented Reality creates the illusion that virtual, computer-generated objects exist in the real world.

Creativity and imagination of people who invent such things are incredible. Something that is so complex as a computer could, in fact, be packed in 5 pens. How is it possible? Just look at images below.

It seems that these are pictures of several pens in the pencil holder. No way to conclude that you are actually looking at the computer.

Approximately 70% of Earth is covered by water, but there are many voices saying that, in future, drinking water will be worth the same as oil today, or even more. This is a huge problem and we need to appreciate every idea to resolve it.

The Water Building Resort is a very interesting solution. It is a building designed by Orlando De Uruttia.

This building will be able to convert the air into water and that’s why it’s beautifully designed in the shape of a falling drop of water. Building also uses renewable energy sources. Facade of the building (covered with photovoltaic glass) converts sun’s rays into solar power. Converting air into water is possible thanks to WaterMicronÂ equipment.

Water Building Resort can also purify sea and rain water and it is designed for construction along warm and humid coasts. There are restaurants, gyms, hotel and conference rooms, exhibition halls on the upper floors and an underwater aquarium at the base of the Water Building Resort.

Weather conditions can significantly affect the way that we drive our cars. Sometimes you need to change tires to adopt to different weather conditions. It would be interesting to go to Italy with your car and then “drive” with that same car to streets of Venice. This will probably be possible in the world of the future. And very common!

Amphibious Hybrid is one of the possible answers. It is a concept vehicle that was created by Janne LeppÃ¤nen, Tuulia Miettinen, Roope Kolu, Tiemen Stelwagen, and Jaap Van Der Voort.

It can be used on land, ice and on water. So how is this possible?

“The wheel exists of movable parts which can increase traction or even transform in a paddle wheel to propel the vehicle in the water. The wheel is controlled by terrain sensors which decide when more or less traction is needed. This system provides the vehicle with more safety because it can answer to different kind of terrains. Inside each wheel is an electric engine, which has energy from batteries.”

Sixth Sense Exists

In everyday life we use our five senses to get information about an object. By combining those informationÂ we can take further actions or not (if we just wanted to familiarize ourselves with that object). But sometimes, we feel that something is missing, that there is something more. Now, we have a SixthSense that can help us and provide additional information. It can also help us in many other ways which we will see later.

SixthSense is developed at MIT by Pranav Mistry. The SixthSense prototype is comprised of a pocket projector, a mirror and a camera. Both the projector and the camera are connected to the mobile computing device in the userâ€™s pocket. The projector projects visual information enabling surfaces, walls and physical objects around us to be used as interfaces; while the camera recognizes and tracks user’s hand gestures and physical objects using computer-vision based techniques. The software program processes the video stream data captured by the camera and tracks the locations of the colored markers (visual tracking fiducials) at the tip of the userâ€™s fingers using simple computer-vision techniques. The current prototype system costs approximate $350 to build.
